This pattern was written during the pandemic of 2020 and is dedicated to all citizens of our world.

This asymmetrical shawl is knit in garter stitch simply until you run out of yarn and/or wish to begin the lace border. There is a slipped stitch detail to call attention to the yarn it was designed for. That yarn is a semi-solid with a splash of contrast here and there. This means that each shawl will be unique. The garter stitch section is written as a recipe with a small insert with both charted and written instructions. The lace border is meant to be knit with a mini skein in a contrast color. It is also charted and written out.

If you do not have the original yarn selection, you can easily knit this only in garter stitch following the instructions for increases.

Everyone finished shawl will be different. It depends on gauge and where the blocks of color in your yarn appear. 4mm (US6) needles are to be regarded purely as a suggestion. I recommend experimenting until you are happy with the texture.

Please read all instructions before beginning. You will have to do some things simultaneously, but you will quickly get the hang of it.
